My Child
 
I look at my child, my sweet little Angel.
Who was created in my Holy Father’s image,
but gifted to his earthly father and me.
I carried in my womb through good days and bad but
Always delighted to feel you growing and moving inside me.
The slow passage of time was unbearable because I longed to see your face.
I desperately wanted to hold you in my arms.

I was blessed with such a gift,
and I promised I would never let you go.
The day you were born was my greatest joy
and also my greatest accomplishment.
I rocked you to sleep,
and awoke at your every cry.
Today, you are still my little Angel,
even though all grown up and so wise yet so far beyond your years.

I close my eyes, holding back the tears;
As I look at my child, my reason for living.
I feel joy in my heart
and I will carry you always in my heart;
and I promise to always keep you safe from harm.
No sacrifice has ever been nor will ever be too great for you.
On this day, I declare again my everlasting love for you
knowing we will always have each other.
